Durban City Orchestra presents – Concerto Festival

Music-lovers have three opportunities to listen to the Durban City Orchestra (DCO) performing a magnificent afternoon concert of live orchestral music at St Thomas: Sunday 21 July at 2.30pm; Northlands Bowling Club: Sunday 28 July at 3pm and St Agnes Chapel: Sunday 4 August at 3.30pm.

The programme comprises a carefully chosen eclectic programme of beautiful concerti. One movement will be played from four different concertos: the second movement of Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor’; the first movement of Haydn Trumpet Concerto; the second movement of Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto; and the third movement of Weber’s Clarinet Concerto.

Durban City Orchestra (DCO), which is independent of KwaZulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, started as Durban Philharmonic Orchestra and was later known as Gateway Philharmonic Orchestra before it became DCO.

The DCO is supported by Mzansi National Philharmonic Orchestra.

St Agnes Chapel: Sunday 4 August at 3.30pm Quicket or at the door.
