DOUBLE VICTORY FOR DURBAN AT THE WORLD TOURISM AWARDS
The City has received international tourism accolades with Durban recently named Africa’s leading festival and event destination for 2021. The City also emerged as Africa’s leading meetings and conference destination at the 28th annual World Travel Awards.
The World Travel Awards are held annually in countries that are perceived as ideal destinations for travel and events.
Durban Tourism Deputy Head Winile Mntungwa said an achievement of this calibre will help to unlock a new narrative to move the tourism industry forward.
“These accolades are testament to the hard work we have put in to market Durban, despite challenges due to COVID-19.”
Mntungwa said this double win for the City is an “absolute honor” and will restore hope to travelers that Durban is the place to be this summer season and beyond.
