MXENGE MUSEUM The house was once the home of the late struggle icons, husband and wife, Advocate Griffiths Mxenge and Advocate Victoria Mxenge. Both lost their lives fighting for human rights and the injustices of the apartheid regime, therefore their legacy will always be part of Umlazi’s heritage and history. Converting their home to the township struggle was given a stamp of approval by their family and all relevant stakeholders.

HOW LONG PARK This Park was founded by Michael Fana Mlangeni in 1976. Throughout the years he maintained and improved the park without financial assistance. In 1998 the Municipality employed Mlangeni as caretaker in the park, but when he reached retirement age, he used his pension to enhance the park and continues to watch over it.
