Amanzimtoti Bird Park

Every day of the year could feel like a holiday, especially if you make your way to Mitchell Park. Named after Sir Charles Bullen Hugh Mitchell, the park was established in the early half of the century as an ostrich farm.

Go for a leisured hour-and-a-half walk at the uMhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve. The trail is on a well-marked path where you can wonder through the coastal forest on boardwalks that cross the Ohlange River.

With over 150 species of birds in the indigenous forest you are likely to spot the Giant Kingfisher, Spurwinf Goose and other birds.
