"Dubai-Of-Durban" Officially Launches Platinum Walk
For the first time in KZN, a mall has been able to attract 12 international fashion brands who have invested over R300m in their stores despite the recent upheavals in KZN. Some of the brands in the Platinum Walk are Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, and Burberry.
The R600m Platinum Walk high fashion section opens on Friday, 14 April 2023 at 6 pm. An array of esteemed guests will be present including His Majesty King Misuzulu Zulu kaZwelithini, Premier of KwaZulu Natal Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Mayor of eThekwini Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda, Miss SA Ndavi Nokeri Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Business leaders Sandile Zungu, Shauwn Mkhize, Moses Tembe, international heads of luxury brands of Dolce & Gabbana, Jimmy Choo, Versace, and Gucci and the cast of the Real Housewives of Durban to mention a few.
The new R1.3 billion Oceans Mall in Umhlanga Durban is part of the R4.3 billion Oceans Umhlanga Mixed-Use Development and is a show of confidence in the future of our country. The mall created 3500 jobs during construction and 1250 permanent jobs. This mall is unique as it is the only luxury mall in South Africa to have 65% black tenants and 100% black owned with the PIC being a co-shareholder.
